Hot steam coming into contact with plastic will degrade the plastic material and result in leakage. The Cornell electric kettles feature a unibody stainless steel interior, including the lid. The pour spout also is all Stainless Steel and has a little steel lip to prevent water coming into contact with the plastic exterior housing. Your drinking water will be 100% healthy.

Combine 1 part white distilled vinegar and 3 parts fresh water in the kettle. (Don’t fill more than 1/3 full.)
Bring it to a boil, let sit for 20 minutes, and then rinse several times with fresh water.
